Half my sophomore year has sped by, and I'm so glad to attend school at York. In our world history class, we have been studying various revolutions occurring throughout history. So far, we have covered the Industrial Revolution, the French Revolution, and the American Revolution. The French Revolution, in particular, interested me very much, as over the summer I read A Tale of Two Cities, which took place during the Reign of Terror. In English, the sophomore class has just finished Erich Remarque’s All Quiet on the Western Front, a spectacular novel depicting the atrocities of war. I really enjoyed the book, and am eagerly looking forward to our next literary conquest, Macbeth by William Shakespeare.
Lacrosse is set to begin soon, and I am thrilled with the thought of being out on the field again. I am confident that we will be capable of holding our own in our league this year. Needless to say, it's been a great year so far, and it seems only to be getting better.
