Name: Audrey Bailey

Grade: 11 - Class of 2018

Previous School: Stevenson Lower School

My junior year at York has kept me busy with various clubs, sports, and new classes. Finding a way to balance all of my activities and courses has taught me how to prioritize my time well. This commitment is crucial in classes which require dedicated time outside of class, such as 2D art. While I have been able to complete several pieces during class time, there have been a few that I work on during my free periods and at home. I do so not simply because they are mandatory assignments, but because I have grown to appreciate art through the projects I do while improving my skills.

Since my first year at York in 8th grade, I have joined numerous art classes, team sports, student government positions, and clubs, and am so glad that I did. York extracurriculars are rewarding whether the activity is something you decide to pursue or complete and move on because they are based on discovering what interests you without judgement. If it were not for the welcoming teachers and students at York, I would not have discovered the many things I love doing!
