I don’t think I’ve fully processed that I’m graduating. I don’t know if I will until next fall when I’m up on Berkeley’s sunny hilltop instead of the York’s. I have been part of the York family since my sister enrolled eight years ago. I’m so lucky I had the opportunity to study here - I absolutely loved it. Yes, the classes were challenging and juggling extracurriculars was challenging at times, but my high school memories are happy. I truly enjoyed high school, which isn’t something everyone can say. The welcoming community at York not only made me comfortable, but allowed me to flourish. C’mon, where else can you drop your backpack and know it will be there when you come back?! My connections with my peers and teachers made me want to learn. I will never forget asking questions during Tutorial, eating outside with my friends in the Commons during lunch (when I wasn’t in the Underworld studying Greek), making Break announcements, snacking in Path, stalling during Workjobs, volunteering at York admission events, jamming in the York vans on the way to field hockey games...
I will miss York for sure - but now I am prepared to explore the rest of the world and see what the future has in store!
